Since our inception over thirty-five years ago, A & B Cranes has built a reputation for the first class supply and installation of jib and Gantry Cranes, underslung and Goliath Cranes, and any associated steelwork.

Supplying New and Used Cranes throughout the UK

We appreciate how important your lifting gear can be to your company and that’s why we offer a truly comprehensive service for all our new and used cranes, together with a 24 hour emergency breakdown repair service.

Whether it’s a Gantry crane, a Goliath crane or one of our other used cranes, we carry a large stock of reconditioned cranes, plus steelwork and crane spares that enables us to carry out used crane installations and crane repairs for almost any kind of lifting solution.

OVERHEAD CRANES

New and reconditioned overhead cranes are supplied from 1 Tonne to 150 Tonne SWL with spans up to 40 metres. We build to customers specific requirements and offer 12 – 24 month warranty on most equipment. They will be Loler certified and tested. All reconditioned cranes are fully refurbished and meet Loler standards.

GOLIATH CRANES

New and reconditioned goliath cranes are supplied to customer specification. These include full goliaths which can incorporate a single or double cantilever or semi goliaths that only have one leg and usually have a traditional end carriage running on a gantry on the opposite end.

JIB CRANES

Our standard jib cranes range runs from 125kg to 5 Tonne SWL. Jibs are available in underbraced or over-braced design with manual or power slew motion. A range of manual chain blocks, electric chain hoists and wire rope hoist are available to work on jibs. We also carry a stock of used jib cranes and chain hoists.

UNDERSLUNG CRANES

Similar in design to standard underslung cranes have a different end carriage design allowing them to be supported by runway beams suspended from roof steelwork. The main advantage of this design means there are no columns mounted to the floor.

LIGHTWEIGHT CRANE SYSTEMS

Lightweight Cranes Systems are normally supplied for applications between 125kg and 2000kg they offer a cost effective solutions and are usually quick to assemble and offer scope to modify and extend should requirements alter.

History

A & B Cranes was established over 35 years ago in Tyne & Wear and then set up a base in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. The company has transformed and diversified over the years and the name A&B Cranes has become well recognised throughout the UK.

The company has more recently taken on both the management and engineering team from what was formerly Dewsbury Lifting Services. A&B Cranes head office and works is now in Sheffield; however engineers are operating in West Yorkshire and Newcastle, Tyne & Wear for crane maintenance and repairs.

The company continues to supply and install cranes and gantries throughout the UK and export worldwide.
